Tokoroa, Waikato New Zealand
Last Updated: 15 July 2018

Tokoroa is the 5th biggest town in the Waikato region and is located about 60km from Taupo north of state highway 1, it is a farming community town, surrounding the township are dairy farms and plantation forests of vast pine trees, the town itself holds a lot of scenic reserves and hold a lot of Maori history.
People
The Tokoroa people are your typical farming locals from New Zealand. The majority of the town's population are elderly, but the town itself homes a lot of engineers and farmers who are generally pretty friendly.
Hiking
Tokoroa is not your typical tourist town, it has a few hikes that are located just out of town. I recommend when you come here if you plan on hiking take a drive to either Taupo, Tauranga or Rotorua which are located very close to the city.
Mountain & Trail Biking, Cycling
Just like hiking, it probably bests that if you are wanting to find some great tracks you take a drive out towards Taupo, Tauranga or Rotorua.
There is one trail which is close to the town which I would highly recommend, which is the Waikato River trail, it's a track located at the turn off to Te Kuiti on your way from Tokoroa to Taupo.
